Longtime Durham chef and restaurateur Scott Howell’s opens a white table cloth steakhouse, appropriately named NanaSteak, adjacent to The Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) and Aloft Hotel.
NanSteak offers both choice-grade beef and pasture-raised, grain-finished beef from a farm near Charlotte. Some of the steaks will be cooked over mesquite charcoal and rested before being served. The restaurant does offer its own aged prime rib, as well.
Beyond steaks, the restaurant offers pasta dishes, bouillabaisse, grilled tuna steak, salmon steak and swordfish, as well as the big bowl of mussels Howell was known for serving at Pop’s years ago. The restaurant kitchen also will have a French rotisserie, which will roast duck and chicken.
NanaSteak also has an extensive wine and cocktail list to complete your meal.
